About 4 months ago my computer started crashing. I guessed the problem was cooling. as the fan makes a loud whirring noise, which I guessed meant it was weak or slightly broken. I purchased a cooling pad and it has worked so far but after moving it and the laptop somewhere else it has started crashing once again. Do I have to put the cooling pad in a certain spot or what?

Laptop cooling pads do very little. Laptops suck air in through one side and push it out through the keyboard and the other side. They do get hot - but that's normal.
